Tips on how to lower the level of bad cholesterol in the body

Cholesterol is necessary for the body, but too much of these fatty substances in the blood can put you at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular diseases. Today, well-known medical expert Dr. Willie Ong will give you a few tips on the common causes of high cholesterol as well as the a list of foods that can help you lower your cholesterol levels if you have high cholesterol.

Here is a list of foods that you should take into consideration if you want to lower your cholesterol levels:

1. Oatmeal  – One cup of oatmeal a day can help lower the level of cholesterol in the body. This is because it is rich in fiber that is capable of dissolving bad cholesterol.
2. Nuts – Eating almonds, cashews, peanuts, and walnuts are recommended to help lower cholesterol levels in the body.
3. Brown rice – Eating brown rice is much healthier than white rice. It provides fiber and several other minerals, and vitamins that are highly essential to the body.
4. Fruits and vegetables– Instead of resorting to store-bought high-fiber food, it would be better if you stick with the natural and organic food that is proven to be rich in fiber.

Moreover, regular exercise is very much recommended. It is because by simply taking a couple of minutes doing brisk walking and light jogging, you can lose weight and burn fat in the body. Also, having a proper and healthy diet will help you maintain a healthy body and desirable weight.
