Peanuts and Cashew Nuts
Peanuts contain vitamin E, as well as good fats. These essential nutrients can help in improving a sharp memory. Cashew nuts, on the other hand, have high levels of magnesium good for the fast transmission of nerve impulses. Therefore, improving, and maintaining, a sharp memory.
However, only consume a handful of peanuts and cashew nuts during snack time in order to regulate the calorie intake.
Oily and fatty fish such as tuna, salmon, tilapia, milkfish, and sardines are good for brain health. Furthermore, these types of fish contain a fatty acid called Omega-3 which are said to improve the flow of blood in the body.
The macronutrient choline can be found in eggs, which some research shows plays an important role in the cognitive development of a child. Eggs also contain vitamin A, iron, and folate.
Coffee has effective antioxidant properties. For students, scientific studies show that drinking coffee can be good for short-term memory, but you shouldn’t drink it excessively. One to two cups per day is advisable, drinking more can lead to palpitations.
Avocado is rich in vitamin B, which is good for the nerves. Avocado also contains good fats, which is said to help in regulating the blood flow to the brain.
In case you’re not aware, oatmeal is said to provide good nutrition for the nervous system. The glucose, fatty acid, phosphorus, lecithin, and vitamin B found in oatmeal help improve mental performance.

Be active physically
By doing simple physical exercise such as walking, a scientific study shows that exercising improves blood circulation to the brain.
Moreover, physical exercise benefits the brain by increasing the production of the neurochemicals that promote brain cell repair, improving memory, lengthening your attention span, boosting decision-making skills, promoting the production of new nerve cells and blood vessels, and improving the multitasking and planning capabilities.
Train your mind
In order to train your mind, participating in simple mental exercises such as reading books and playing mind games improves cognitive abilities.
Have sound breakfast
Eating a healthy breakfast helps jump start the brain to work properly.
Drink a lot (of water)
The human brain is made up of 70 percent water. So, drinking a lot of water is necessary to keep the brain functioning properly. In fact, dehydration can lead to the occurrence of a headache. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Write diaries and journals
Writing helps the brain to stimulate the creativity.
Be an optimist
Always maintain a positive outlook in order to improve brain functions.
Sleep as long as you need
Staying up late can reduce the cognitive ability of the brain. Always try to get 8 to 9 hours of sleep as much as possible.
Daydreaming can also work out the creative muscles of the human brain.
