Home remedy that help treats vertigo and dizziness

Do you always suffer from dizziness? Then this could already be a symptom of vertigo. Based on statistics, around 20% of people around the world suffer from vertigo. The common sensation is like you are boarding a ship – you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or like your head is spinning.

According to Dr. Gim Dimaguila, a good friend of our “Doktor ng Bayan” Dr. Willie Ong, vertigo is usually caused by a problem in the ears.

The medical expert explained that dizziness has something to do with how balance works in our inner ear. Unbeknowst to many, found inside our ear are the three semicircular canals, which serves as our organ for balance. Located here are the otoconia or the small stones that move when we change our body position.

Sometimes, the otoconia get driven out due to various physical activities. These will then cause dizziness, loss of balance, and nausea or commonly known as the Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).

However,  Dr. Gim explained that dizziness is not always due to vertigo. In most cases, this is the common symptoms of hypotension, hypertension, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), or eye problems.

A person who suffers from vertigo is prescribed to medicine. However, these anti-vertigo medicines are typically expensive and are usually for the symptoms only.

If you really want to get rid of it then you can undergo the process called Epley maneuver or the repositioning of the ear stones that became dislocated.

You can also try this simple daily exercise that is proven and tested as a home remedy for dizziness.

WHAT TO DO: Before rising up from your bed in the morning, do not move instantly!  Warm up your body by turning your head and your body to the right, center, and left sides for 30 seconds respectively. Doing this helps the repositioning of the ear stones and it will also save you from spending a lot of money.
